SUCCESSFUL 2001 IOMS CME CONFERENCE KICKS OFF THE NEW YEAR

As part of the 2001 Winter Scientific Seminar, held November 29 – December 2, 2001 at the Oak Brook Hills Resort in Oak Brook, Illinois, the Society presented Dr. Robert G. Good, with the prestigious Physician of the Year Award.  The presentation also took place on December at the Annual Winter Continuing Medical Education Conference in Oak Brook, Illinois.

The award is bestowed annually upon a member who has maintained a history of high professional and ethical standards for the osteopathic profession in the State of Illinois, and for contributions to the professional community and the community at large.

Dr. Good, who was also installed as IOMS President on the same date, is a certified internist who serves as Chair of the Carle Clinic Association, Adult Medicine, Mattoon/Charleston Branch, Illinois.  He is on staff at the Sarah Bush Health Center in Mattoon and the Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  Dr. Good is a graduate of the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in DesMoines, Iowa. He is a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Internist, and of the American Academy of Family Physicians. 

IOMS also awarded James R. Pelton, DO of Ottawa with the Distinguished Service Award for his longtime dedication to the Society and profession.  Teresa A. Hubka, DO,  FACOOG, FACOG, was presented with a plaque and crystal gavel in recognition of her service and dedication during her term as IOMS president.
