Since 1903, the Illinois Osteopathic Medical Society (IOMS) has advocate for all Illinois osteopathic physicians (DOs). The IOMS is the professional association for osteopathic physicians practicing in Illinois. Our members represent various osteopathic medical specialties working in a variety of health settings across Illinois. Discounts are available for physicians in their early years of practice and membership is complimentary for osteopathic medical students subsidized by the generous contributions of active physician members.

Legislative Advocacy
The IOMS follows important legislation in Illinois and partners with the AOA on some federal legislation that impacts your practice. The 2025 Congressional session will commence in January. We continue to track legislation in advance of the next session and updates are included in the Illinois Insights newsletter.
Network and Community
The IOMS offers touch points throughout the year to network and build a community of like-minded peers. Members are invited to members-only events, advocacy days, and the annual members meeting in December.
Leadership Development
The IOMS Board of Trustees is composed of members and members at-large representative of the physicians practicing in IL across specialties, practice types, and geographic districts. This volunteer leadership role is integral to the success of IOMS and provides individuals with opportunities to development experience in philanthropy, nonprofit board governance, and change management.
Continuing Medical Education
The IOMS understands your CME needs and is continually improving ways we offer courses in-person, virtually, and on-demand. Currently, IOMS members have access to three learning management systems to find and complete required CME annually.
